Thermal management of batteries

The flexible metal pipes allow the medium to be transported safely for cooling or heating.

Venting pipes

In the event of a thermal propagation, standards such as ECE R100 and GB 38031 require that a vehicle can be safely exited for several minutes.

Our battery venting pipes are used to guide harmful gases away from the battery housing to non-critical areas. Advantages are:

  • Safe venting of the battery
  • Temperature resistance up to more than 1,000°C
  • Cooling of the exhaust gas up to the outlet
  • Space-optimised, weight-saving routing of the pipeline
  • Crash safety thanks to flexible, metallic components
  • Gas-tight connection to the battery housing
Venting pipe systems

Venting pipe systems can collect the waste gas from several battery modules and bursting discs in the event of thermal propagation, cool it down along the pipe route and discharge it into the environment without developing a flame.

The flexibility and adaptability of the pipes in the installation space enable us to develop space-saving and weight-optimised solutions.

The reliable cooling and heating of battery modules is ensured by the adaptable and durable Cool Reflex Plate. The use of stainless steel enables minimal material usage (from 0.1 mm thickness) combined with optimum heat transfer.

The Cool Reflex Plate enables reliable thermal management of the battery without additional gap fillers.
